Recently I was in Walmart. I feel like I spend most of my time there because we always need something that somehow wasn’t on my list. This time we had to make a run before the blizzard hit. Bare in mind, I’m originally from South Carolina. If there is the threat of snow, I stockpile. If it does snow, I don’t leave the house. It was after the blizzard warning was issued that I took both children to Walmart (I’m so stupid). We were going through getting our supplies. The kids were being their usual selves, which means super busy and loud. They aren’t bad children, we are very active to make sure they are raised with manners and discipline, but geez are they active. As we stand in line, the lady in front of us turns and watches the kids. This normally happens so I’m not concerned about it. She smiles and says “they are adorable and so energetic”. I told her that this was the calmest my kids would be all day. She then gasps and says “you are my hero. My kids were much more mellow”. We continued to talk and the kids continued to talk to me, and themselves, and anyone who would listen. As she was leaving she turned to me and said “Your children are beautiful but I can totally see why you have 2 bottles of wine”. Oh the things that get said to us. And yes, I got 2 bottles of one of my favorite wines because I knew I was getting snowed in.
